Growing Together: Gardens for Every Young Adult at Adolescent Clubhouse
We were happy to make a donation, together with the Little Green Thumb Foundation, that provided every young adult at Adolescent Clubhouse with a garden, giving these bright young minds a place to dig in, grow and create.
A Safe Place to Grow
Adolescent Clubhouse is a drug-free drop-in center and after-school program designed for youth ages 10–18. It gives young people a welcoming place to spend their time, connect with mentors and peers, and try something new.
Gardens for Every Young Adult
Through this donation, every young person at the Clubhouse now has a garden of their own. The raised beds outside the building have already become a canvas for their creativity, painted with bright flowers, bees, ladybugs and butterflies before being filled with soil and ready for planting.
Gardening gives young people a chance to learn by doing: to plan, plant, care for something over time, and watch it grow. It’s a hands-on way to explore science and nature, build patience and responsibility, and take pride in what they create.
Thank You, Little Green Thumb Foundation
We’re grateful to the Little Green Thumb Foundation for joining us in this donation. Partnerships like this one are at the heart of The Sunflower Project: connecting young people, agriculture and opportunity, one garden at a time.
