The Sunflower Project helps students across the United States learn to grow their own food through hands-on STEAM education - so young people don’t just read about how things grow, they plant, measure, design, build, and watch their ideas take root.
The Sunflower Project is a program of Unstoppable Future Corporation, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
About
The Sunflower Project brings science, technology, engineering, the arts, and mathematics to life by connecting classroom concepts with gardening, sustainability, creativity, and real-world problem-solving.
Working with national and community collaborators, the program gives young people practical skills they can use at school and at home - and connects them with STEM and STEAM education, sustainability, healthy living, and real-world learning.
We believe every young person deserves the chance to discover what they are capable of. By pairing hands-on learning with mentorship and community partners, we help students build confidence, curiosity, and the skills they need for the careers and challenges of tomorrow.
What we do
Garden kits, lessons, and activations that turn a patch of soil into a classroom.
Lessons and activities rooted in gardening and the natural world, so classroom concepts come to life.
Projects that teach young people how to grow their own food and care for their communities and the planet.
Workshops that blend art, design, and technology - because the “A” in STEAM matters.
Partnerships with schools, community organizations, and mentors to expand access to learning.

Why it matters
When learning is connected to everyday life, it stays with you. Young people who see themselves as scientists, makers, and problem-solvers carry that confidence with them - into the classroom, into their careers, and into their communities.
Our goal is simple: give more young people the opportunity to learn by doing, grow something themselves, and discover what’s possible.
Collaborators
The Sunflower Project works with a growing network of education, gardening, nonprofit, and community organizations. By bringing together national resources and trusted local organizations, we’re building a model that can grow from individual classrooms and community centers to communities across the country.
Interested in partnering with The Sunflower Project? Whether you’re a school, community organization, educator, or sponsor, we’d love to grow with you.
